We are honored to welcome Scott Stauffer as a virtual speaker at the Dog People Evolution Conference 2025.
Scott’s work is important to this conference because it highlights a compassionate, interconnected approach to the human-dog bond, rooted in both science and wisdom passed down through generations. His message that “it’s okay to accept help” is one that resonates deeply with anyone seeking a more balanced, compassionate relationship with their dog—and with themselves.
More About Scott
You matter! With over 30 years of experience working with dogs, Scott Stauffer has come to realize an essential truth: everyone bears significance – he does, the dogs do, and you do, too! This profound lesson he has gained from dogs was particularly impactful during times when he struggled to feel it himself. It has shaped his perspective and played a key role in his long-lasting success in the industry, as he shows dog parents that their companions continually ask to be heard, wanted and acknowledged in order to feel safe.

Following Dr. Jaak Panksepp’s Affective Neuroscience, Scott realized the importance of CARE and how healing it is to experience pain while also accepting help.
Dogs seek our help, too – many times throughout the day, every day, whether at daycare, during walks, in dog parks or while hanging out on the couch. They seek a sense of safety for us all to share together. However, the concept behind Scott’s work is far from new; since time immemorial, Indigenous Nations have acknowledged the importance of interconnectedness, which is woven into their daily lives and teachings. This understanding emphasizes the need for mutual support. Remember, It’s ok to accept help!
