More About Craig
Craig, of Gitxsan descent from the Frog Clan, House of Haawx, resides in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, on Treaty Six Territory.Alongside Leah Arcand, Craig co-founded Save Rez Dogs, an Indigenous-led, social crowd-funded organization that has become a powerful voice for rez dogs across Turtle Island. Since its inception in 2019, Save Rez Dogs has grown from a local initiative to a national movement, advocating for animal welfare in First Nations communities with a focus on spay/neuter programs, emergency rescues, and providing essential resources like dog houses.

Through their grassroots approach, Craig and Leah have successfully engaged communities using a blend of anti-oppressive education, animal rights advocacy, and cultural sensitivity.
In addition to his work with Save Rez Dogs, Craig recently completed his Bachelor of Education at the University of Saskatchewan, further solidifying his commitment to education, community development, and social change. His work is deeply rooted in the values of compassion, cultural connection, and the importance of addressing systemic challenges facing both animals and people in First Nations communities.
